Diablo 4 patch 3.1.1 makes the Season 14 Mythic chase less exhausting, though it doesn't change what makes the system frustrating. Pandemonium Fragments are easier to earn, the Cube recipe is cheaper, and high-Torment farming now has a clearer rhythm. If you're still building a character, don't rush into Mythic crafting just because you have a few spare Uniques. Early upgrades, useful runes such as Diablo 4 runes, and a reliable build can matter more than one lucky roll.
What the patch actually changesCorrupted Reaper can now drop up to two Pandemonium Fragments, with better rewards tied to higher Torment levels. Repeatable Glints of Hope reputation rewards also guarantee one Fragment. That's a welcome change, especially for players who were tired of running seasonal content with little to show for it. The Cube conversion cost has dropped from five Fragments to four, so each attempt arrives a little sooner.
Deathtoll Chambers are more useful as well. At high Torment levels, they guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key. That removes a frustrating gap in the farming loop. You can clear the Chamber, get the key, and move on to Corrupted Reaper instead of hoping the next run gives you permission to continue. The patch also fixes Mythic drop issues affecting some Unique sources, including Lair Bosses, and improves the chance of naturally dropped Mythics being Iconic Mythics.
How to farm Fragments without wasting your timeYou'll get the best results by treating the process as one connected route. Don't obsess over a single activity. A fast build that clears seasonal content and handles bosses safely will usually beat a glass cannon that spends half its time dead.
- Reach the highest Torment level you can clear without frequent deaths or long pauses.
- Run Deathtoll Chambers to collect Superior Lair Keys at a steady pace.
- Use those keys on Corrupted Reaper and open the reward hoard after each kill.
- Pick up repeatable Glints of Hope rewards whenever they fit naturally into your route.
- Save valuable Uniques, then use the Cube once four Fragments are available and the class pool looks worthwhile.
Why the Mythic system still feels roughThe patch improves speed, not control. You choose the class when converting a Unique, but the resulting Mythic is still random. That can sting when your build needs one specific item and the game hands you something designed for a completely different setup. More attempts help, but they also mean more chances to burn through materials without solving the real problem.
For now, keep enough Fragments for more than one attempt if you can. Check whether a Unique supports another build before sacrificing it, and don't convert gear your character still needs. Patch 3.1.1 makes the chase more reasonable, but the season would feel much better with stronger targeting tools. Until then, efficient farming and sensible spending matter more than chasing every possible roll, and some players may even choose to buy Diablo IV Gold to keep their wider gearing plan moving.
